I first saw this trailer a few months ago and have been looking forward to its North American debut. The Chinese release was earlier this year. This is by far one of the best martial arts movies I have seen in sometime. As with any “wushu” movie there is a story being told and this one is no different. The caveat here is that the movie is based on actual events and people. If you haven’t seen this movie yet I highly recommend spending full price - you won’t be disappointed.
Watching TV in Kuwait is very painful. The hotel I am staying at has about 3 dozen channels off the dish. A good dozen channels are Arabic only so I can’t even watch those to begin with. The other channels seems to show the same shows every other third day. It feels like I am in a twilight zone episode. The only upside is that I get to watch some German programming that helps me stay current with the language. Also, getting to watch some soccer matches of my favorite German team (Bayern Munich) is a plus. Other than that the TV at the hotel sucks!
Ok. I guess in 2002 when this series was on TV I was not watching a whole lot of TV because I was in Afghanistan. My good friend Dan loaned me the first season for this trip to Kuwait. I was a bit skeptical when i watched the pilot episode but I am now completely hooked. Not sure what everyone else thinks about this show but I think it was well written and definitely appeals to me. Too bad it has been canceled but I did see online that there is a movie in the works. So hopefully I’ll get to see it on the big screen. The other show I have on DVD is Battlestar Galactica. I have only watched the first DVD so the jury is still out.
